CHARGING THAT FITS YOUR SPACE
Homes · Townhomes · Business properties
MADE FOR THE WAY YOU PARK
A garage wall, a driveway or a shared parking area each needs a different approach. Start with where you park and how you use your vehicle.
01
Add Level 2 charging close to your usual parking spot. We assess the route from your panel and the charger position before recommending the installation.
02
Shared parking adds questions about approval, electrical access and cable routing. Tell us about your parking stall and any strata requirements when you enquire.
03
Planning charging for staff or a business vehicle? Share the number of parking spaces and how they will be used so we can discuss the electrical work required.
Already bought a charger? Send the brand and exact model. If you are still choosing, discuss your vehicle and electrical setup with us first.
START WITH CAPACITY
Not every EV charger installation requires one. A 100-amp service alone does not tell you whether your home can support charging.
The right approach depends on your existing electrical demand, the proposed charging load and the condition of your system. A subpanel adds circuit space; it does not increase the capacity of your electrical service.
If the assessment confirms sufficient capacity, the installation can be designed around your existing service.
A suitable management device may control the charging load and help avoid a service upgrade. It needs to be assessed for your property.
Where existing capacity or equipment is unsuitable, discuss the required panel or service work before committing to the charger installation.

KNOW WHAT YOU ARE QUOTING
The charger is only part of the project. A useful estimate reflects your property and separates the work you need from options you can choose.
01
A longer route from the panel, concealed wiring, trenching or a detached garage can change labour and material needs.
02
Existing demand, circuit space and equipment condition determine whether additional electrical work is needed.
03
The chosen model, installation method and mounting location shape the installation requirements.
04
A shared parkade or commercial property may involve extra coordination compared with a private garage.
Tell us your city, property type, vehicle model, preferred charger location and whether you already own a charger. Photos of the parking area and the outside of the closed electrical panel can help. Do not remove the panel cover.
BEFORE YOU BUY
A higher advertised charging rate is not the only thing that matters. Think about compatibility, available capacity and how long your vehicle normally stays parked.
Check the connector against your vehicle: J1772 and NACS / J3400 are common options. Any adapter should be approved by the vehicle manufacturer.
For a driveway or open parking space, choose equipment rated for outdoor conditions. Plan the cable reach around your actual parking position.
The charger model and electrical design determine the suitable connection. Have an existing outlet assessed before assuming it is ready for EV charging.
Compare home charger options from BC Hydro. Check current rebate requirements before buying; eligibility depends on the equipment, property and program rules.
FROM FIRST CALL TO FIRST CHARGE
01
Share your property, vehicle and parking details. Let us know about any future charging needs too.
02
We assess the existing system and discuss the charger location, cable route and scope of work.
03
Review your estimate, timing and permit requirements before installation is scheduled.
04
Complete the agreed electrical installation, check charger operation and explain the setup.
Permits matter. An electrical permit must be in place before installation begins. The relevant authority may be the municipality or Technical Safety BC. See BC Hydro’s installation guidance.

GOOD QUESTIONS. CLEAR ANSWERS.
A Level 2 home charger uses a 240-volt supply and can charge faster than a standard 120-volt outlet. Actual charging speed depends on both the vehicle and the installation.
Atlix installs major EV charger brands. Send the exact model before booking so we can check its electrical requirements and suitability for your property.
It may be possible, but the building’s electrical system, parking arrangements and strata approval need to be considered. Contact us with your building and parking details to discuss the project.
Timing depends on access, the cable route, electrical work and permit arrangements. A straightforward garage installation and a project involving trenching or a service change have different schedules. Ask for timing with your estimate.
You can enquire before purchasing. Checking your electrical setup and parking location first helps narrow down suitable equipment and avoids buying a charger that does not fit the installation.
